Over 10,000 people attended this year’s 2nd Annual Chatsworth BLOCKFEST, hosted by the Chatsworth / Porter Ranch Chamber of Commerce, and held ON Devonshire St. last Saturday, April 15th. More than 115 vendors sold a variety of goods, including arts and crafts, clothing, comics, jewelry, and toys.
The street fair also boasted delicious food from a range of local food trucks and vendors. Blockfest also featured a Carnival, Booze & Beer Garden, and LIVE professional wrestling presented by PCW Ultra highlighted the event. Live musical performances were provided by JD Nash, Green Valley Station, and Brass Cadillac!
The Chamber partnered with member company and local Chatsworth business We Can Be Heroes Comics to hold its 2nd Annual WE CON, a pop culture and comics convention that featured actors like Alyson Kipperman (Power Rangers), Rapper & Artist Chino XL., Alisa Reyes (Nickelodeon’s All That & Disney Channel’s The Proud Family), and Tommy Walker (Daredevil & Henry Danger).
Top artistic talents included Tom Waltz (IDW Publishing), TMNT & The Last Ronin graphic novel series, B. Earl (Deadly Neighborhood Spiderman & Werewolf by Night), David Avallonne (Elvira in Horrorland & Drawing Blood), Chris Johnson (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and many more who attended! Cosplay groups such the Los Angeles Ghostbusters and the 501st Star Wars Legion raised money for various charities.
The Chamber once again thanks its major Sponsors, including Title Sponsor L.A. Councilmember John Lee, Galpin Motors, The Law Offices of R. Grace Rodriguez, Strain Caregivers, and Prime Point Contracting. Special thanks to the BLOCKFEST Planning Committee, LAPD, Kiwanis Club of Chatsworth, and Phelps Public Affairs for collectively producing this event!
